High-speed steel rolls are manufactured by centrifugal casting, the core material as spheroidal graphite cast iron. By adding vanadium, tungsten, niobium and other alloying elements and special heat treatment, the distribution of this material becomes martensite with good uniformity to ensure high hardness and hardness uniformity of Shell. High-speed steel materials deliver high hardness and wear resistance at high temperature. It can be used for finishing stand to increase the operating time and improve the quality of the surface of rolling material.​

of High Speed Steel Rolls

  • Superior Wear Resistance & Longer Campaign Life

    HSS rolls contain high alloy elements such as V, W, Cr, Mo and Nb, forming mainly MC and M₂C carbides. Compared with ductile iron and high Ni-Cr rolls, HSS rolls achieve higher tonnage per groove, reducing roll change frequency, roll consumption and overall production cost.

  • Excellent High-Temperature Performance

    HSS rolls exhibit outstanding thermal stability, maintaining high surface hardness and wear resistance at rolling temperatures.

  • Uniform Hardness Distribution

    With excellent hardenability, hardness remains nearly constant from the roll surface to the working layer, ensuring consistent wear resistance throughout the roll life.

  • Stable Groove Geometry & Dimensional Accuracy

    High thermal expansion coefficient and good thermal conductivity help compensate groove wear during rolling. Groove size remains stable for a longer time, improving pass consistency and facilitating negative tolerance control, especially for bars and rebars.

  • High Neck Strength
    Centrifugally cast HSS rolls with alloy ductile iron cores provide high roll neck strength and reliable load-bearing capacity.
